I wanted to know what would happen if I dropped my wallet 50 times in the most honest country in the world. In 2015, more than 1500 participants from 15 countries took part in an online survey involving two incentivised experiments, designed to measure honest behaviour. In this study, those from Japan were found to be the most honest. Japan is well known as a very honest country. Many people share experiences of losing wallets and purses, only to find them quickly returned. I wanted to see just how accurate this was. I walked through the streets of Tokyo and drop my wallet 50 times. I wanted to be sure that if someone picked it up, they knew it was an actual wallet. So I left a few important things inside it such as my driver's license, business debit card, train ticket, and 5,000 Yen. It was incredible to see what happened!
